(Construction) – On December 3, in Hanoi, Minister of Construction Nguyen Thanh Nghi met with Mr. Bezdetko Gennady Stepanovich, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to Vietnam.
The meeting was attended by senior officials from the Ministry of Construction and representatives of the Russian Embassy in Vietnam.
During the meeting, Ambassador Bezdetko expressed his pleasure at the positive developments in the Vietnam-Russia relationship, particularly the collaboration between Ministry of Construction of Vietnam and the Ministry of Construction, Housing and Public Services of the Russian Federation, as well as with Russian partners. He expressed confidence that the two sides would continue to make significant progress in their cooperation and development in the future.

Ambassador Bezdetko Gennady Stepanovich welcomed the exchange and discussions between the Ministry of Construction of Vietnam and the Ministry of Construction, Housing and Public Services of the Russian Federation, which aimed at re-signing the Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation between the two ministries. He also highlighted that the Russian Federation is keen to strengthen cooperation with Vietnam in the field of construction materials, particularly cement and wooden furniture.
Minister Nguyen Thanh Nghi stated that in recent years, cooperation between the Ministry of Construction of Vietnam and its Russian counterparts has been consistently growing. Notably, the Ministry of Construction of Vietnam and the Ministry of Construction, Housing and Public Services of the Russian Federation signed a Memorandum of Understanding in 2019, with the goal of promoting cooperation across various sectors of the industry.
Currently, in the field of construction science and technology, Vietnam still adheres to many standards set by the Russian Federation. Additionally, the Russian Federation has played a significant role in training and nurturing many generations of officials and experts for Vietnam’s construction industry.
During the meeting, the two Ministers discussed various topics with the goal of signing a new cooperation agreement between the two Ministries in the near future. This agreement aims to enhance cooperation in the construction sector in a more effective and successful direction.
Both Minister Nguyen Thanh Nghi and Ambassador Bezdetko Gennady Stepanovich agreed to further strengthen cooperation between the Vietnamese Ministry of Construction and the Embassy, as well as with Russian partners. They emphasized the importance of accelerating discussions between the Ministry of Construction, Housing and Public Services of the Russian Federation and Vietnam’s Ministry of Construction to expedite the process and facilitate the signing of a new Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation.
